TIPS:
Intro:
The intro guitar is pickin' single notes: Play these single notes(string/fret) where you see these chord symbols: G is 6/3, D is 5/5, F is 6/1, and C is 5/3. You could play the G as 4/5.
Rest of Song:
All of the chord symbols represent 4 beats except the ones marked as: F2 C2 - these get two beats each.
Most of the lines counts as 8 beats - some are 12 beats - they have 3 chord symbols in that line. The last line of the guitar solo is 4 beats.
End of Song:
The electric lead is playing these four notes over and over (string/fret): 1/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/8.
Try the following alteration for the C chord (especially in the ending):
C
1 -|| -----------------------4--------3
2 -|| --------1-----------------------1
3 -|| ---0----------------------------0
4 -|| ---------------2----------------2
5 -|| -----------------------3--------3
6 -|| ---------------------------------
