Chords, Guitar Tablature & Lyrics
____________________________________________________________________________________

This one is a lot of fun to play and fairly easy - no finger pickin' required, just strummin'. I think that there's one electric lead and two acoustic guitars in this one. I'm going to show you the chords and offer a couple of tips - you can take it from there. Be sure to visit my tab page in order to understand how I write tablature on the web. Enjoy !

TIPS:

Intro (acoustic guitars)

The intro is:

A D A D A D A D
A D A D A D A D
(Acoustic Guitars & Guitar Solo Intro)

and should really be played as....

(a) A  Dsus4  D

where (a) is a single note (the note 'a') - pluck the open fifth string on the down-beat of beat one...

then strum the A chord until the down-beat of beat three...

then play the Dsus4 chord on only the down-beat of beat three...

and play the D chord until the down-beat of beat one....

... then pluck the open fifth string on the down-beat of beat one... keep going! ...

Play the "(a) A Dsus4 D" thing a total of eight times.

When the vocals start, emphasize the up-beats with just the usual 'A' and 'D' chords.

Play the Dsus4 like this:

Dsus4

1 -|| --------------(2)------4--------3
2 -|| -----------------------3--------3
3 -|| ---------------1----------------2
4 -|| -----0--------------------------0
5 -|| ---------------------------------
6 -|| ---------------------------------

Thinking of it as the usual 'D' chord with your pink pressing down on the third fret of the high 'E' string, makes it seem easier to play the chord. The (2) means to keep that finger pressed down, in this case on the second fret . Fingers 1, 2, 3 create the usual D chord.

Most of the Song

When playing throughout most of the song, the idea is to strum on just about every up-beat - but hey, this is a fun one, do what ya want!

The Ending:

After the last harp solo and during the 'entry' to the fiddle solo, the chords quiet down and a little ditty is being played- play these notes (string/fret - and start with your second finger!): 6/5, 5/4, 5/7, & 5/5, 4/4, 4/7. Play several times... when the fiddle starts playing the higher notes, play A7 and D7 chords.

If you want to get fancy, you can play the 'ditty' as : 6/5, 5/3, 5/4, 5/7, & 5/5, 4/3, 4/4, 4/7. To play this, you also need to start with your second finger on 6/5. Play 6/5, then play the next two notes: slide the first finger from 5/3 to 5/4 very quickly, then play 5/7. Do similarly for the next four notes.
